Best Smartwatches Under ₹1,500 in India: What to Check Before You Buy

A few years ago, a smartwatch with Bluetooth calling cost well over ₹5,000. Today you will find dozens of them on Amazon India for under ₹1,500, many showing discounts of 80–95%. That sounds amazing, but it also makes choosing harder, because on paper almost every budget watch promises the same things: a big display, calling, heart-rate tracking and "100+ sports modes".

This guide explains what actually matters at this price, what to ignore, and which watches on DealsKoti are worth a look right now.

1. Bluetooth calling: the one feature worth paying for

At this budget, Bluetooth calling is the biggest real upgrade. It lets you answer and make calls from your wrist through a built-in mic and speaker while your phone stays in your pocket or bag. It is genuinely useful while driving (with the phone mounted), cooking, or at the gym.

What to check:

  • The listing should clearly mention a built-in mic and speaker, not just "call notifications". Notification-only watches only tell you who is calling.
  • Look for a dial pad and contacts on the watch, so you can call without touching your phone.

2. Display: size matters less than you think

Most watches here have screens between 1.39" and 2.01". Bigger is not automatically better:

  • Square displays around 1.8" are easiest for reading messages and using the dial pad.
  • Round displays around 1.4" look more like a traditional watch and suit smaller wrists.
  • Check brightness if it is listed. A dim screen is hard to read outdoors in Indian sunlight.

3. Battery life: read the fine print

Brands often quote the best case, with calling off. With Bluetooth calling and notifications on, expect noticeably less. A realistic target at this price is 3–5 days of normal use. Charging is usually through a magnetic cable, so don't lose it; replacements are not always easy to find.

4. Water resistance: IP67 vs IP68

  • IP67: fine for sweat, rain and handwashing.
  • IP68: slightly better protection against dust and water.

Neither means you should swim with the watch unless the brand specifically says it is swim-proof.

5. Health tracking: a guide, not a medical device

Heart-rate, SpO2 and sleep tracking on budget watches are useful for spotting trends, such as whether you slept less this week. They are not medical-grade. If a number looks worrying, see a doctor rather than trusting the watch.

6. About those huge "95% off" tags

Many budget smartwatches list an MRP of ₹10,000–₹20,000 but sell for ₹1,000–₹1,500 almost all the time. The "real" price is what the watch usually sells for, not the MRP. Before buying, compare the price with what you saw a few weeks ago, and read our guide on how to spot a fake discount.
